Show Your True Colors
Let's get this out of the way, shall we?
You're a narcissist!
It's like the definition is you!
You've never taken blame for anything you've ever destroyed!
You put the blame on my mother.
You are the man of the house, show your true colors!
You twist your slimy words and wrap them around your cold lie.
Able to get out of anything with your disgusting manipulation.
I get flashbacks because of you!
You have made my home a war zone
And me a trauma victim.
At times I need to hold my pillow and squeeze my eyes.
Telling myself that everything you ever screamed at me were lies.
The emotional abuse, the verbal abuse.
I need to remind myself that it's over but it's not!
Physically I'm fine no bruises and no scars.
Mentally, emotionally inside is another story.
If all my emotional scars became physical you could never look at me again!
Is that why you stopped looking me in the eye?
Can you see how lifeless my grey eyes are?
The tears threatening to fall?
I've found someone who sews up my cuts and wounds.
You come back and rip out the stitches.
Ignoring my screams of agony.
Yet that person patiently stitches me back up.
Your words are punches to the gut.
Your screams are kicks to the ribs.
You tell me I'm worthless and I'm ruining my life.
Might as well stab me and toss me to the side.
I'm nothing more than roadkill to you.
You make me feel guilty for being a victim..
You make me feel bad for sticking up for myself.
When I talk I feel like I have no right to.
I feel sympathy for you, as if I'm the one doing wrong!
People see you as the victim.
They don't ask for my side of the story.
You show rainbow colors as everyone believes something so beautiful.
As if you support the LGBT Community.
Racist and homophobic.
Your color is black.
You're the man of the house aren't you?
Show your true colors, coward.

Physical abuse isn't taken lightly. You can see the bruises and the cuts. When it's all over even the day after that, the victim is a written story book. There's proof for the abuser to be punished.
Emotional abuse is one of the things that barely cross people's minds. It's like a punch, kick, slap, or push that can't be seen. When the fight is over and the tears are dried, it's like it never even happened. I can tell you this, that victim will never forget those words.
