Darkness.
All my life has been darkness.
Dark days.
Dark weather.
Dark life.
Dark everything.
The darkness never lifted and never went away.
All I knew was darkness .
Years passed by and everything was the same.
The only difference was I got older
And the location changed.
Depression came and joined along with this…
Unending darkness.
Anxiety dragged along in the shadows.
One parent struggling trying to make my life better
The other pretending like I wasn't even there.
Throwing myself into a hole...
No one came in and no one left.
Bullies would stand at the top
And throw dirt on top of my dark place
It became harder to see where I was
Or where I was going.
The hole got deeper.
The darkness became darker.
Just as I was thinking to ended it all…
You came into my life.
A small bright light flashed...
And suddenly all I saw was light.
Day after day it got brighter.
Life got better.
You saved me.
I finally saw what my purpose was
And where to go after all this darkness was over.
There are still days where the shadows come back…
And life tries to pull me back into darkness.
But one thing is stronger than darkness.
