The Last Three Days

The last three days
Were in a hospital bed
Hacking up a storm
Halfway smiling but never being happy


The last two days are
UNSETTLING
HORRIFIC
LUGUBRIOUS


The last day
The mouth never spoke or smiled
Those bright hazel eyes never opened

Until
The
CANCER
FInally
Shut him
                 
   DOWN

 

Everything I do is for him
Every move I make is with him
I will never forget his deep voice and chuckle
I will never forget him
My
Grandpa
Is my
HERO !
