But Why Spider-Man?

Out of the corner of my eye,
I see something red flying
Through the light blue sky.
Thinking that it was cardinal,
I soon realized it was not.
I see my wonderful boyfriend in his red and blue suit.
Again he is saving the world
Instead of being with me.
Again putting others before me.
Again he is missing another date with me.
Leaving me all alone in this big city.
Strangers often asking me if I am lonely.
I walk around this needy world feeling lost without him by my side.
For once can you be my hero and instead of everyone else’s.
