Dream
Midnight, wonder, warfare, glory,
everything one could ask for.
Daybreak,
You grieve to know that all you have created must come to a bitter end.
Screaming,
Unbearable screaming that pierces the cool morning air.
You thrash and cry and curse and scream until you can bear it no longer.
The sound silences,
You allow yourself to sink back into a sliver of comfort.
Not a moment later, the screaming begins again
And you know you cannot delay your fate a moment longer.
You want to curl up and hide,
Right where you are,
Forever,
For the fear of the horrors that await.
The screams are harsh and cruel, you notice,
Listening to it howl.
Looking back,
You say goodbye to the paradise you are being so violently forced to leave,
As you slam your fist down, the screaming ceased.
You turn off your alarm clock
