I Remember
I remember eating McDonald’s outside on the picnic table with my cousin.
I remember sitting on the couch watching Dragon Tales, waiting for my mom to take me to preschool.
I remember playing in the Lilly Put Playhouse store for what felt like hours.
I remember smelling my mom’s fresh apple pie.
I remember using a bad word for the first time and feeling like the worst person ever.
I remember getting Chinese for dinner was the biggest treat I could think of.
I remember being told (jokingly) I was adopted repeatedly by my siblings.
I remember my siblings being yelled at because they made me cry.
I remember watching Little Lake Theater plays like I was watching a Broadway production.
I remember riding in the backseat of my mom’s Volvo station wagon waving to strangers.
I remember wishing I was 7 again.
