Blue Eyes
I don’t only love the way your blue eyes shine but I love the way they shine at me,
They tell me your fears, your secrets, your problems… your eyes tell me a story that only I can see.
Everything about you is mesmerizing, you take my breath away.
I can’t put into words how happy you make me each and every day.
Your eyes don’t only see, for they speak to me too.
They tell me the story of a heartbroken boy who never knew his next move.
The boy would second guess everything he did, for he was afraid it would haunt him in the end…
So after so long of failure, he had no hope left to lend.
In return from all the insecurities and doubt, he became a detached boy at heart.
He turned away from his closest peers and slowly fell apart.
The story of that boy has all come to past,
For a man as amazing as him… heartbreak doesn’t have what it takes to last.
Someone was watching over him from high up above,
And that boy grew into the man that I have come to love.
Your blue eyes have told me all of this so I believe it to be true,
So now let me be the one to make a promise to you.
I promise to stand by you through every problem that comes our way,
And I promise to stand by your side until my last day.
I know you have been through a lot,
And each time…a part of you dies,
But that’s why I have come to love your amazing “blue eyes”.

Someone extremely close to me has been through many painful and life changing events. He lost someone very close to him and his life changed drastically. I wrote this poem for him to let him know that I understand what he is going through. I know of all the struggles that he has had to face and to let him know that I will stay by his side regardless of the circumstances. I would like others to read this poem in hopes that it reaches out to more than just one person and shows them that just like the guy I wrote this for...they have someone there for them to.
