LONESOMENESS
I WALKED ALONE BY THE SHORE,
WITH THE STRANGE SOLITUDE WHICH I BORE;
THE NIGHT UPON HER SOMBRE THRONE,
LIT BY PALE STARS IN THE ECHOES OF MOAN;
THE BROOK PRATTLES THE STRANGE OLD TALES,
THAT IT HAS SUNG AND WILL SING TILL ITS VOICE GROW HARSH N PALE;
I WALKED OVER N OVER REJECTING THE WORLD'S VANITY,
IN THE PEACE OF NOSTALGIC MOMENTS OF INSANITY;
THE COLDAND BREEZY WINDS ASHORE,
AND DISTEMPER THAT THOSE SURGING,BILLOWING WAVES WORE;
THE NIGHT WAS IDYLLIC AS SOMETHING NEW,
THOUGH IT CURSED ME FOR HURTING THE SENTIMENTS OF FEW;
DESPITE THAT INVIDOUS NIGHT HAD UNFOLD HER HANDS UPON ME,
AND BLESSED ME FOR THE SERVICES I RENDERED,TO MANKIND AS LOVING AS IT COULD BE.
