The Lies

You see a happy family
You feel like they are perfect
You hear them talk to God
Every night before supper
But that's a lie
You don’t see them falling apart
You don’t feel the anger
You don’t hear the daughter praying to God
For it all to stop
You see the smile
You feel her “happiness”
You hear her pray to God
every day and night
But that’s a lie too
You don’t see her scars
You don’t feel her pain
You don’t hear her as she screams
God's name in vain
