The Side to Love That People Don't Show
I don't get how you can say you love someone
When you stab them with your words
You watch them tear apart at the seams
Staring blankly back at themselves in the mirror
Not able to recognize what they see
They question their existence
You did that to them
You tore them apart
You made them hate themselves and change themselves
All for you
Now they begin to question every move they make
They walk into a room timid
Knowing they will get judged
But judged by who you might ask
The answer is simple
Judged by people exactly like you
You opened them up to see the hurt in the world
You took a naive loving heart and made it mortified of who it was
How can you say you love someone
When you make them feel the way you made me feel
