We live divided;
Seeing the other as the enemy.
This is the world we live in.

We’re given a message,
The two will take;
Distorting the words.
This is the world we live in.

We find the other unintelligent, uninformed;
It’s their fault.
We are good,
We are knowledgeable.
This is the world we live in.

We look for truths,
When given lies;
And grasp for hope.
This is the world we live in.

We want peace,
But not with the other.
We try to be united,
While hating the other.
This is the world we live in.

I wrote this after Trump got elected. It seemed to divide people and cause a lot of aggression. People were saying Trump promoted hate. The media tends to tell us lies or little bits and distorts it. People who like democrats, tend to watch democrat news which finds everything wrong with the republican and the same vice versa. We’re considered a united country, but most times it seems as if we aren't. Due to the election a lot of people were surprised by how many people are still in fact racist.
