my world.
i’d never felt the weight of the world
until my head was on your shoulder
i’d never felt the earth’s gravitational pull
until I was laying in your lap
i’d never felt the sun’s overwhelming warmth
until I was wrapped up in your arms
i’d never searched for stars
until I found them in your eyes
i’d never bothered to observe the planets
until they aligned in your smile
i’d never experienced a meteor shower
until I heard you laugh at the moon
in the dark of the night
i’ll hold you tight
and as we pull away
i’ll remember to say
“you, are my world.”
