O'er the bay
‘Til we meet again o’er the bay she said,
Twisting and turning her lips and tongue.
Concocting a final goodbye for me
In mem’ry her words reside
‘Til we meet again o’er the bay she said,
‘Til we sail again into the moon.
Today I must leave, but darling don’t grieve
We’ll patch up on blue moon’s eve.
‘Til we meet again o’er the bay she said,
From the aeroplane o’er the sea
Waving goodbye, up in the blue sky,
Yet I saw no tears in her eyes
‘Til we meet again o’er the bay she said,
Twelve moons now I think it was,
I scarcely believe, I will conceal
This heart that’s now on my sleeve
‘Till we meet again o’er the bay I said,
Laughing and sobbing out loud,
Up on the edge, tiptoeing the ledge
A broken and beat’n wretch
Hanging on by a threat, I stood
Up on the ledge of the bay
The beautiful bluff, where she showed me her love,
Would witness my dying breath
And just as I felt the air between
My skeletal, frail legs
I thought I could see, a vision for me
Down under upon the shores
A beautiful maiden with a tambourine smile
Smiled and waved at me
