I am the one that
I am the flame inside someone else's hate
The one that stole his date
I am the shame
The one that makes you feel all the blame
I am the monster under the bed
The one that puts darkness in her head
I am the demon that destroys when left unfed
The one that makes her wish she was dead
I am the knife
The one that often fears she will take her life
I am the earth
The one that doesn't know its worth
I am the horses lame heal
The one that never truly learned to feel
I am the hard crusty dirt
I'm never supposed to hurt
I am an illness
the one that never lets her sit in stillness
I am bipolar
I am PTSD
I am the flashbacks that haunt
The ones that taunt
I was the beautiful flower
The one that held all the power
But now I am nothing
I am the emptiness that I once game her
I am the darkness that used to devour her
I am powerless like she once was
I am a bunch of jumbled letters on prescription no one will ever fill
To her I am nothing more than a past
I am not a definition to a child
I am nonexistent with her persistent determination to succeed
