Honey, you can’t fix everyone.
Some people are early falls or late summers,
and I suppose you just might have a chance with em’.
But look-
some people fancy themselves stagnant winters,
that’s just the truth of the matter.
They never start fires,
and they’ll never let themselves feel anything above freezing.
Who knows why they do that to themselves-
I can’t reckon they enjoy it.
Maybe they done something,
and they think they deserve it.
Or maybe they hadn’t-
a man never needed a good reason to hate himself.
Darling, you’re a pretty spring flower,
and they’d freeze you over without a second thought.
Oh, but please don’t let em’ make you bitter, honey.
They never realize how cold they’ve become
til’ someone like you comes along and tries to warm em’ up.
You try and help whoever you can,
but please don’t freeze yourself over
trying to unthaw somebody else.
