And I Have the Key
I am locked inside of a box
that no one else can see.
I am locked inside of a box
and there is no one here but me.
I see the laughter all around me,
but the noises I can’t hear.
For the only sounds I know
are the ones aligned with fear.
You frowned in front of your truth
and you smiled behind your lie.
And even though you hurt me,
You will never see me cry,
I am locked inside of a box
that no one else can see.
The doors are bolted shut,
and I have the key.
