Killer Doctor
It is surreal
You have talked this through with yourself
That it is inevitable
You have done the cause
Now it is the effect
And there will be nothing you can do
To get out of it
The chamber opens after you finish your meal
Of greasy lobster scallops
And liquid gold wine to rinse it down
But it’s hard to enjoy your last meal
Lead out by the apprehensive authority
With white walls set up in the hallway
Like a killer doctor’s office
Finally you enter the prepared white room
And the doctor is waiting
Panic strikes your eyes
And your heart drops
Forced on the bed prepared for you
As the sound of leather is tightened around your ankles
The stethoscope band around
Each arm
Weary but mind unchanged
He gives the nod
And the killer doctor gives society the shot
The medicine gives them a feeling of justice.
