Hey, I Was Wondering...

Would you teach me how to ride a bike?
I never learned, but I’ve always really wanted to.
Can you show me how to swim?
Even if you can’t, we could always learn together.
Teach me how to play guitar
And hit every note, just like you. (Or is it a chord?)
How about we learn to sing?
I was in a band, once. (Though I doubt I’d sound as good as you)
Show me how to laugh like that;
All belly, sweet grin, even if it was a bad joke…
And though this may be a lot to ask for,
Could you show me how to dance?
I’ve never done it before, but I think I want to
With you

I wrote this to capture the feeling of creating a new relationship and wanting to have new experiences with this person. Whether it's a friend, family member, or significant other, I feel that the interaction between two people where love (platonic or otherwise) exists is important to highlight every day.
