A Love Letter from a Book to a Director
I’m the beginning of it all.
I hold the words, the stories
My pages set the stage for your vision.
And though I’ve won numerous awards,
have been on the NY Times Bestsellers for weeks,
and it seemed like I am the best I can be,
you somehow make me even better.
You take my words and give them an image.
You make my story come to life,
which is something I cannot do myself.
You make new people appreciate me
who previously didn’t bat an eye at my presence.
I can tell how much you love me
from the way you direct your scenes
to accurately portray my content.
I just want to thank you for appreciating me as much as you do.
Thank you for making me into a better version of myself,
and for showing me I could further my potential.
Most importantly though, thank you for making me so happy.
My story doesn’t do much for me in that category.
