Feminism
Knowledge is power and she is powerful.
Try as you might, you will never strip her
of her glory.
She knows her worth and she knows that
what's hers is hers alone, and not some prize
to be passes around.
She knows what is disresepctful and harmful,
and that revealing clothes are neither,
while an offended man can be both.
She knws the difference between a compliment
and a threat, and that one is supposed to make you
smile but the other is to fill you with fear.
She knows these are the smaller problems,
and that, if she wanted, she could go on about inequality
forever.
But she won't.
Because the second the word "feminism" leaves her mouth,
people stop listening to her speak about equality,
and only hear "I hate men!" repeating over and over.

I wrote this poem because people constantly mix up feminism and misandry, and because of that I cannot express my views on the subject without getting asked why I hate the male gender. I hope people will understand that I want men and women to be safe, and that is all.
