Pandora's Box

The humans went against the will of Zeus

by using stolen fire from the sky.
A gift from the gods to serve as a ruse,
Forged by the gods was I.
I came with a warning
Do not open me.
But Pandora lost to her curiosity.
She looked at me with focus,
Like a beast to its victims
She thought to resist,
but lost to her demons.
She picked me up from my ornate grips
And slowly lifted up the lid.
My being rattled and rocked as I was opened
The evils I held were then released.
The carefree lives of mortals would soon start to cease.
Now let the humans grow even more weak,
For the hope inside me,
They shall now seek.
