Your voice fills me with a rush of death
a rash desire
to rip away at the earth
with uncut nails and gnarled fists
to scream like a nonsensical child
and furiously climb underground
drinking from dirty streams of tears
burning from the inside out
I’d be more content as the earth chewed up my ash seasoned bones
than I am in this conversation with you
