a desperate hue

her words are reaching
stretching like elastic bands
constantly waiting until they
snap
break
hit pavement
the rain pounces
against the window
sadness trickles down
her soft ghostly cheeks
a desperate hue
of midnight whining for attention
a newborn cry
looking for anyone else
for arms that know how to lift and carry
just searching for a home inside of somebody -
inside of something
