Those Wonderful Days at the Creek
Oh those wonderful days at the creek
With its loose and sloppy dirt
And its unsafe toxic water
And don’t forget about the mutant crawdad living at the depths of this shallow place
It all started out as fun
Walking in the shallow parts and exploring the dirt
No shoes on because nobody cared about the many jagged rocks
And dodging angry crawdads like an obstacle course
And then it got dangerous
Walking along and then suddenly BAM
We all sink into a deep and muddy part of the water
Soaking wet, trying to escape but our feet were stuck to the bottom
We finally get out
From our noses and down we are drenched
So we walk back home to sleep
But we left our shoes behind without knowing
The next morning we realise they are gone so we decide to go back
We get our shoes but then see a part of the creek that we haven’t explored
We all climb onto the loose dirt and start going down
Then we are in the very fast moving part of the creek but above on the dirt and safe
All of a sudden the slippery slope of slop gets steeper
We can’t hold on so we give up and slide in
I catch myself on a huge rock and it slashes my leg open
Then i realize that the pungent water is getting into my cut
Grasping for life we find a tree root
Then suddenly it gets too thin and can’t support all of our weight
It breaks and we fall but then a miracle happens
We fall right onto flat land and we are all still alive
We get back to the cliff that we climbed down to get here
As we were were leaving we took one last look
Than ran home to clean up
Oh those wonderful days at the creek

This was a real life event that happened to me. It was so fun and scary that i decided to write a poem about it to get all the feelings out
