"It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then." -Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Carol Lewis

I.
                 can we start again?
reset the clock in the morning
and hope for the best
these days seem to go so quick
and yet so slow at the same time
i need time to catch my breath
or do i need to stop?
                 i’m not sure

II.
i’m waiting for something
something—i’m not sure what
perhaps i’m waiting for you
i’m on the edge
i’m about to fall off
and i suppose,
it’ll be beautiful
like a bird twirling, dancing
my body will be effortlessly falling
a painted dancer drawn to perfection
by the artist’s eye
a sunset exploding in vibrant colors
like a bittersweet tragedy
because we all know
i’ll hit the ground
sometime

III.
my heart feels alive
it’s loud beats fill my ears
like the powerful ocean waves
crashing against the rocks
it’s screaming, i’m alive!
i can’t believe it
what is this feeling?
                 am I falling now?

I've finally gotten to a point in my life where I am genuinely happy with my friends, my writing, and just overall everything. This poem captures my thoughts as of late and I hope you enjoy it.
