Hermes' Winged Shoes
I’m pressed upon the stunning marble floors,
As my master takes us through the dazzling door.
Like a moth is drawn to the flame
Hermes is called up to Zeus’s mighty frame.
That boulder of a hand demands me as a gift,
But Hermes answers “You’ll have to throw me off a cliff.”
Zeus’s thunderous reply shakes me to my core,
He says, “Boy, are you trying to start a war?”
My friend let out not even one cry,
His silence left me wondering
Would he even reply?
Zeus threw down a bolt charged with volts,
Of energy that took out my friend and left us for dead.
