Bewildered
Twisted arms of wood reach out to the moon,
  dying and frail.
Their secretive voices elicit a fascination,
  through inclement winds.

In the dismal light of the moon,
a clearing rests flat atop the hill.
  It’s terrifying vacancy
is pervasive in the cool air.

The tall grass scratches at me
  with its fragile complexion.
  The soft movements of nature
  keep the night alive.

  This starry fantasy
  presents an unparalleled beauty.
Life isn’t so fragile in this moment,
  I find a renewed elation.
