The Sweet Pumpkin Spice
With pumpkins in sight,
I go with my family
to pick the perfect pumpkin, from a field full of crops.
As I picked one up, it felt nice and
round, and just right.
As the wind blew my warm chocolate hair,
I looked around and saw families coming to pick up pumpkins as well.
I could see how happy they were to be there.
It was a great thing to see.
There were crops on the field and so many people who worked there.
I looked around at the big trees with the dark brown and bright red leaves
flying down into the leave piles.
I put the bright orange pumpkin on the desk to check out.
The lady was quite friendly
with long brown hair and glasses, I remember her happy smile.
I remember her saying,
“pumpkins came from the United States and Canada,”
as I stood shivering in my black jacket
when the wind blew hard.
Pumpkins rested in the fields
as I looked up into the sky. I saw the cloudy light blue sky darkening.
Families laughed and ate,
bite after bite of their pumpkin pie, smiling with warmth. Happiness and love, all around the world
and pumpkins rest in the field
...until next time.
