Blessed
Every morn’ and every eve,
Every morn’ and Blessed eve-
Denied me, God, in his spoken word:
“Ask, and thy shall receive,”
Sinister eyes, sinister soul, and a
Sinister heart rested here.
Thine eyes did read the spoken words of God:
“Ask, and thy shall receive,”
Ancient script, an ancient tale, t’was an
Ancient script and prophecy
Which thine, in resentment, did read
And spat on its leather bind.
Darkest heart, darkest shroud-
Darkest heart bound in cast sheer
Did turn cheek to thy word-
T’was not deceived with its false bearing.
‘Til he did appear.
‘Til he did appear.
Until HE did appear
Clothed in white, clothed in color
Clothed with woven color,
He appeared and doth preach
Thine’s spoken word with markings upon his skin and tongue.
Light shone his face, Light shown his Face,
Light shown his human face and body.
T’was for mine to touch.
T’was for mine to taste and pleasure in the unholiest name.
God cast him not, God cast him not
God did not forsake thee-
Our sins were bound in matrimony
In the eyes of his God
Awakened eyes, Awakened soul, and an
Awakened heart rests here.
Thine eyes did read the promised words of Our God:
“Ask, and thy shall receive.”
Every inch of him, every curve,
Every inch and blessed curve,
Blessed me, God, in his promised word:
“Ask, and thy shall receive.”

I wrote this piece about my beloved boyfriend. He showed me a truth about Christianity that I did forget after a tragedy. He made me feel innocent again, after the terrible things I did.
