Gone forever
From To Kill a Mockingbird
Gone forever
I found myself explaining nothing
Put my foot on the top step and stopped
Watching from her upstairs window
Escorting me down the sidewalk
To the light on the corner
Hugging the fat pole
Waiting, watching, hoping
Death and flowers it felt like
Their lives turned upside down
Turned looked behind me
Nothing but tears
Watching with hands behind back
Childrens heart broke
Children need him
Lights turning fuzzy
As the farther away we got
Gone forever
