"Gone"
His head hung low,
like the thin strip of pale light illuminating off his cheek
I knew what happened
but there was more to it,
Something,
Someone,
Above all else
Feeding these inhumane thoughts into his messed up head
He hadn’t been the same since--
Every day he faded more and more into an endless hole of despair
I saw it in his eyes
Or at least I could
The embrace of his shadow now lurks
He’s always there,
But there is more to it
Each breath now shallow and empty,
The way I feel without his existence.
