Maybe
Maybe,
It's a word that doesn't promise but gives hope,
it's a word that gives you no answer but also gives you many,
Maybe,
people say it to let you down easy,
people say it because they don't know,
Maybe just maybe,
maybe there will be another world war,
maybe there could be only acceptance and not hate,
maybe,
but then again maybe not.

I wrote this poem thinking about how indecisive I was and reflecting on how often I said maybe or what-if. Maybe you'll have enjoyed this poem but then again maybe not.
