The Beauty Inside

My heart was dark and I couldn't see
I needed a light to help guide me
I sat in silence, not moving
I thought about my mistakes
Where was the beauty inside
It was then that I saw him
A boy standing there
He smiled at me and held out his hand
I looked at him, his grin warm as sand
I smiled and took it
My dark had vanished
The light was restored
I had found it
There was no surprise
There was the beauty inside
