Eye contact is only scary if you tell yourself you are small.
Remember to be big.  Remember to be grand.
No one can hurt you if you are above them.
No one can scare you if you are fiercer than them.
No one can devour you if your teeth are sharper than theirs and you refuse to go down.
Write it on your calendar every day: be strong, be strong, be stronger.

They will haunt you if you let them.
If you wake up screaming, they will make you shiver and sweat.
If you close your eyes, they will roar in your ears.
Don’t forget what you know, don’t forget that the secret is to make your own rules.
This is your body.  This is your mind.  This is your foot kicking them out and away.
Stick motivational posters on your skull: be strong, be strong, be stronger.

Fill your pockets with detentions slips, give the demons detention if they come back.
If you let them, they’ll annihilate you.
They’ll leave you high and dry and heartless, struggling to see and to feel and to breathe and to
go on.
Go on.
Intimidate them with whatever it takes.
You have the right to pretend the aren’t there at all.
Keep track of your progress so you can throw it in their face one day: strong, strong, stronger.
