Day And Night
Your skull may try to lull your mind
But night will bring you restless dreams.
No pillow or bed can rest your head
Tonight you’ll fight until the light.
Dawn breaks again
Your thoughts are drawn back in.
Your bones will drag you through the day.
It’s not your choice, you have no say,
So let your bones take you away.
The dark persuades you to claim
All the demons that call your name.
Rays of light may bring you life
But glassy eyes will prove there was a fight.
The sun returns,
Away your mind turns.
Leaving your bones to pull
Your fragile frame
Through another day.
