The girl who had the world in her pupils
Patiently,
she lets dark thoughts drift away
like origami boats
on stormy waters.
She hopes for the best
but alone she cannot be left.
She covers her eyes
with tissue paper
so that she doesn't have to look
at the stack of domino tiles
that everyday she must fix
and let fall.
Kindness cannot heal her,
but only rest can.
