To The Coaches
The dust settles with the memories.
The memories we left on the field of triumph, failure and friendship.
Over the years we grew together to accomplish the goals we set.
With every strike out, every error, every bad day we continued to grow.
The bad days would disappear with every hit, throw and catch we would ace.
The accomplishments we made, let us remember why the struggles were worth it.
The coaches stood by us through it all, the ups downs and in-betweens.
We might not have always seen eye to eye but the best is all they ever wanted.
Forever grateful we will be for the coaches who saw our potential and believed in us when we forgot to believe in ourselves.

I wrote this poem on the night after my varsity softball dinner with my team and coaches. I was inspired to write this because of my coaches love for my team and for their passion. I gave them this poem as a gift and they both loved it.
