Duty and Honor
I thought I was safe,
Behind my castle, my keep.
Yet I find myself worried,
Unable to sleep.
The moon shines bright,
Yet darkness draws near.
The enemy outside my gate;
Relentless, without fear.
But I shall always hold my ground,
And never back away!
It is my duty, an order.
This wave of terror I must delay!
Yet I stare at what's infront;
A sea of men and hate.
Is this what I am to beat back?
This beat beyond my gate?
What really shall I do?
No help will I receive.
Why continue this fight?
There's nothing more I can achieve.
They're coming. I hear it.
Hope. There is no more!
Just surrender your men now,
Be done with this wretched war!
No. I must keep going.
I'll let all the dangers unfold!
For my sovereign, my king,
It is he who I uphold!
My duty, my honor;
Greater than my will to live.
If my country shall last another day,
Then my life I shall gladly give.
