Black, Gold, White
Waiting in darkness
Friends are around me
The excitement in the air makes me feel a little bit dizzy
A sea of black, gold and white swarm the cafe
Laughing, yelling, talking echo through the hallways
We hear the faint sound of music playing (our cue)
We walk in confidently, heads lifted up high
Bright flashes blind our eyes as we walk
We all sit down together, eagerly
Speeches are being made
Names are being called
The audience roars after they announce all the names
More speeches are being made
Then we all stand up together, as one, as a whole,
As the Class of 2016
Everyone’s thinking,
“We’re done! We’re finished!”
And we all know,
We’ve made it.
