The Creation of Music

I got a sudden thought,
A set of notes that quickly brought
Attention to my musical mind,
But as these notes began to unwind,
I realized that this composition
Was much more than any chorus.
It was the beginning
To a brilliant song,
However this set of notes
Did not last long.
It was a short phrase,
In which consisted a lifetime
Of memorable music.
