I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times.
You can't do whatever you want and say it rhymes.
I've told you once, I've told you everyday.
You can't just wish your problems away.

Still, I will protect you.
And everything you believe is true.
Even if it's not.
(But I do it with a second thought.)
A shadow of a doubt.
(But I know you know what this is about.)

Still, I'll say, "Look at the green of the sky."
And you say, "I think I can fly."

And I don't know.
I feel so low.
Even when I say I'm flying.
I think you know what I'm selling, but you're still buying.

Still, I will protect you.
And everything you believe is true.
Even when it's not.
(But I do it with a second thought.)

So, I say, "The moon really is made of green cheese."
And you point to your invisible wings and say, "Look at these."

And I don't know.
And I feel so low.
Even when I say I'm going over a mountain top.
(Only you can make this stop.)

I know you see me lying.
Yet you're still buying.

I will protect you.
And everything you say is true.
(Though I know you know it's not.)

I wish I'd told you once, I wish I'd told you a thousand times. But we both have things to say to fill ten thousand lifetimes.

So look
At the green
Of the sky.

I sort of sang this as a song in my head all day today. But, I couldn't decide between it being lyrics or a regular poem, so I made it a poem just in case. First few lines are stuck in my head.
