Soiled Ground
Precious and petty is the soiled ground
Dents where bullets have established their claim
And the ground is soiled with mess and agony
As the woman cries over her poor baby
There are rivets in the snow
From pellet droppings long ago
And sleek rivers that gleam
Malicious and pretty
Though petty and undeserved
Bullets exist in golden fields
Sowing down the roots and trees
Of another generation
And if sorrows too sore
To hear or bear in the heart
Then can we put down the bullets
And make a fresh start?

This poem was inspired by recent events. There is too much violence in society and I had this radical idea that I wanted to publish. This is copied from my Tumblr Blog.
