Death: A Rabbit Hole
The ticks and tocks of the clock faded into the background
as she fell into a rabbit hole.
She was floating,
flying through space.
As her body spinned and plunged in loops and twirls and flips,
everything was numb,
and everything was forgotten.
The loss of those who had left her,
and the pain of those who stayed,
All the troubles of her past
seemed so silly
from down here,
in the rabbit hole.
Watching the people pass her,
she layed,
seeing them,
but never feeling them.
Reaching, as far as she possibly could,
but never getting close enough.
A constant bystander, gazing onto the living,
trying to understand.
"Poor thing, she was so young, "
They would say.
Confused and perplexed at the loss of the girl.
But
the lifeless girl,
could only watch,
As those who had ignored her
payed their respects.
Before
No one ever understood her,
and no one ever wanted to.
She didn't understand them either.
As much as she tried, she could never fit in,
could never adjust.
And so she escaped
To the only place she could feel safe,
And there she lays and there falls
slowly and slowly,
down the rabbit hole.
