When the first leaf of fall fell I jumped to grab it

When I came back down the ground was covered in snow

I looked around and noticed my leaf floating away from me

I ran troweds my leaf the leaf I got in autumn

Which each step the world truned and ran with me

I jumped once and missed I jumped again and I caught it

This time when I touched the ground it was green

the new leafs just starting to grow and the flowers not yet bloomed

I looked down at my leaf and walked

soon I was on a hill this hill had no leaves

I planted my feet and reached out too the sky leaf still in hand

and when the rain came I welcomed it

because when it was summer

I was no longer the girl trying to hold onto the leaf

I was the tree that never lost it's leaves

the leaves that always stayed green

exept for my leaf
