His Life
Jem is like a tight knit knot
He is hard to break
And never backs away from a challenge
This rope is both physically and mentally strong
He bonds with his family
And he bonds with his friends
He is a role model for young Scout
Whose rope is just beginning to develop its knots
As she creates what her most important values are
He is helpful with many of her struggles
And has always looked up to Atticus in his own way
But never really understood how Atticus was everyday
His knot also consists of sports which keep him busy
And schoolwork that gives him little time to play
But summertimes are when his real knots form
From fun times and life lessons
That occur on certain days
His knot is still growing every time he takes a breath
For it will be gliding in the deep thoughts of grey
But his main core values will never cast astray.
