I am from grey skies

from the smell of pollution and smog in your lugs

I am from the dirty trampoline in the backyard

from the yellow porch swing that squeaks when it sways

I am from the lavender paint and the wood floor

from the clank of pots and pans and the tiny fridge

I am from the comfy couch and the warm fire place

the marble staircase and wood railing

and the green and blue walls in the basement

I am from the cold back porch

from the chai tea in the morning

and long talk with mom

from visits in the summer

and the smell of smoke from bonfires on a cool summer day

from walks at night and sleepovers with friends

I am from the early mornings

and the bus rides to school

from family, friends and many more

I am from home.
