one two three
a blue man is standing on the corner of the street

he's passing out items
for a darker individual,
a silver bullet
or, maybe he'll have mercy
and just give them a longer sentence

for others,
a warning
maybe a small fee
but certainly not a silver bullet
or a long sentence

one two three
another unarmed black man is dead
his face is on the tv

one two three
they say it's the blue man
that was on the corner of the street

the blue man says he was only responding
to the black man
he says the dark man tried to kill him first
he was trying to protect himself from the man
and people of his kind

people like that man,
dark people,
are criminals

they deserve to be locked up
and have their rights snatched from them
better yet,
they deserve to killed
by a silver bullet

one two three
there are several people on the streets
shouting for justice
holding up signs with the victims
that have been wrongfully
murdered by blue-wearing men

one two three
i see several blue men
lining up the teeming streets
they grip their shields tightly
and barricade themselves from the protesters
because they fear these villians
will attack them too

one two three
they may be armed with weapons
but, they cannot destroy our spirit

one two three
i see my friend, logan
using a speaker
and throwing acrimonious words
at the blue men

one two three
one specific blue man
looks at logan with bitterness

one two three
logan continues vociferating
for justice

one two three
i can see the blue man's veins
as he tightens his throat
and his fist starts tensing

one two three
logan and his words
the blue man and his gun

one two three
the blue man looks at logan
and he says,
"i have a present."

one two three
he pulls out his gun
"here, it's a silver bullet."

one two three
now there is a silver bullet
lodged in logan's chest

one two three
today is the day that
logan has left the earth

one two three
the blue man looks at the crowd
and he says,
"i have presents for everyone.
silver bullet for you and you
and you."

one two three
chaos erupts throughout the streets

one two three
more bloody bodies

one two three
more unarmed black people
are now laying on the pavement,
blood pooling onto the streets
and a silver bullet located in their chest

one two three
all the blood is on
the blue man's hands

one two three
will we ever be free?

The author's comments:

The murder of unarmed black men and women aggravates me and I wanted more people to understand what's going on. I want more people to know what's happening to people of my community and how it affects us. I want more people to know that this can happen to them or someone they know/love. I hope more people will protest police brutality and will see the way it has impacted the black community and all of America.
