Whispers, lick lips,
Isn’t this what you wanted?
Fake hair , fake clothes,
Big smile,
‘Time to pose!’
They clap and stomp
Like animals,
Waiting to prey.
Welcome to the world, where there’s all games but no play.
Delve too deep, take a step back
Cups of coffee turn to flasks
Where are you now?
In a dream.
This is what you wanted to be.
And who would think when you sell your soul,
You would end up with a pot of gold,
But only when the drugs take hold.
