Addictions
Here I lay,
In something deep,
A deep sleep also,
Injected by sweet limes.
What?
Yesterday was Monday?
Where is today?
Disappeared in the bottle,
Finding its way to crawl on me.
I see only black,
No memory to cry on,
But even better,
Sheer, beautiful, peaceful,
Darkness.
No memories.
Vodka and lime,
The urge is pulsing,
My mind jumping mad,
Where's the booze?
I need the sedatives.
Addiction?
I know not.
Awareness vanishes,
In a sea of sore dates.
I wake and
Rise not.
Drink till the lights blink out.
It is helping,
Therapeutic but,
Deadly.
A friend slowly sabotaging,
I die everyday.
But I pledge,
I know the dangers,
Tomorrow will appear,
Where I rise.
Tomorrow is today,
I need my lime.

We all have addictions, ranging from deadly liquids to perhaps the Internet. It's a habit. The deciding factor is how we deal with them. This piece below is on alcoholism, a symbol of what I am trying to convey.
Try, try and try until the lime loses its lime.
