Empty Bottles
Did you notice that the
bottle was your best friend
and your worst enemy.
Both your main course
and dessert.
The other woman, your
mistress. Addiction that built
a brick wall between reality
and fantasy
But did you also notice your wife
flinched when you said cocktail
Instead of ice tea
Did you notice when you forgot
to drown your mistakes with AXE
she screamed out of fear and frustration
not disgust
Did you notice that your fist missed the
wall and struck her instead
“At least we don’t need to go buy more
plaster” was your only apology
Did you notice she smiled
when there were only empty
bottles left
